Random Road Trip: York Redoubt

Where the heck am I?

Where the heck am I?

I had not heard of York Redoubt before I went here.  Basically it’s a fortification that was once used to protect the entrance of Halifax Harbour, and it’s over 200 years old.

Now that I’ve been there…  Well, I know that it’s got nice views and lots of cannons, and not much else.  So instead of a history lesson or anything of the sort, have some pictures!

"Hey, someone left behind a cannon!"

“Hey, someone left behind a cannon!”

"Okay, point it 12 degrees to the left..."

“Okay, point it 12 degrees to the left…”

"Sure you don't want to help?"

“Sure you don’t want to help?”

"Wait, are there even any cannon balls in this thing?"

"Let's use this one instead!"

“Let’s use this one instead!”

"I don't see any cannon balls in this one either..."

“I don’t see any cannon balls in this one either…”

"I think there's a cannon ball in here. Why don't you take a closer look?"

“I think there’s a cannon ball in here. Why don’t you take a closer look?”

"TOO CLOSE!"

“TOO CLOSE!”

"Maybe we should hang out inside this little house-thing instead."

“Maybe we should hang out inside this little house-thing instead.”

"Yup, this is much more peaceful."

“Yup, this is much more peaceful.”
